What a great addition to our Repertoire Bank, Ian! The eleven Ligeti Ricercata pieces are wonderful learning for pianists and composers alike. I like teaching them in composition because he shows us, especially in 1 - 3, that melody and harmony are not always necessary to create a masterful composition! Numbers 3 and 8 are my favorites, I think. You earned 40 more points from this wonderful entry - the limit for each Game Round is 10 pieces, which is 100 points - and you already had 60 points from your previous entries. We're currently in the WarmUp Round which will finish December 31st. We'll start the first real Game on January 1st. Good luck, and thanks again for your invaluable input.
Hi, Ian. Thank you so much for your nominations for the RepertoireBank. Your selections are musical treasures and have all been approved. Anyone who adds a piece to RepertoireBank, with good links and correct information, will get 10 points per piece when their nomination is approved and recommended. You have added six new pieces, so your points will soar! Was the Toccata from yesterday the Ned Rorem sonata?
Great work in MusicWiz.club, Ian! You've moved into second place. You can earn extra points by listening to any of the pieces using the Performance links, opening the scores for study using the Score links, or reading about the piece in the "Other" links. The more you know about any of the WarmUp pieces, the better you will do in the wrap up quiz at the end of the month. Good luck!
