Juan, there are definitely pros and cons in running an online competition:
Online Composition Competitions Pros and Cons

One strong pro is that your piece will be heard by thousands of people world-wide.  Past  competitions have resulted in "discoveries" of composers that did not win, but later received professional commissions or were offered scholarships.  Good luck!

Actually it doesn't matter how good a composition is.. if you don't spend all day voting for yourself or sharing the voting form it's impossible to win... How can ppl have already 300+ votes?? LOL

Hint: If you use privacy related browser plug-ins (like the Electronic Frontier Foundation's Privacy Badger) you may need to disable it to see the voting form. I too only saw a blank page until I disabled privacy badger for that page.

To Ian:  Everyone can vote.  You don't even have to sign in to vote.  Try again.  It may be a problem opening the link from your email.  Try clicking in the header at the very top of each VA page.  Let us know if you still have a problem.

I can't see anything on the voting page - can I only vote if I have a subscription?

A voting form will be posted in the next 24 hours.  There are several thousand people who have voted over the years who are notified when the voting form is ready.  All our current members will also be notified that voting has begun and will get a link to the voting form.

Many families look forward to this event every year, and listen with their young children.  Many composers spread the word to their own friends and families and share the voting link with as many people as possible.  Feel free to let the world know about your great entry.

I wanted to listen to all the songs, but the music led me along a dark path, that's when I heard their voices ...

Congratulations to the 32 composers who posted an entry into the competition.  All of your music, stories, pictures and scores are highly creative and exciting!

The deadline for entering a piece has passed.  All the current entries are now locked.  Any attempts to change an existing entry will immediately disqualify your entry.  Tomorrow we begin the public voting!

Please feel free to let the world know about your entry - everyone loves voting on Scary pieces!
