I play mostly Celtic music, mostly Scottish. I find the harmonies and snaps interesting and often spooky, very different from Irish music. I love the history and stories behind the songs, and as I am a singer too, my most fun is performing the many verses from Child ballads. I like to compare the numerous verses because often there are alterations. For instance in the "Rovin' Journeyman" the mother teases her daughter with "how can ye love the journeyman you've never seen before" and the daughter either says "I love him all I can" or, "we do the best we can" implying that the mother settled for much less. Anyhow, I love folk songs.
