Thanks! I made the song in Logic, using the good ol' Symphony Orchestra Jam Pack. :)

I did a quick recording last evening where I engineered and a singer friend used the performer app. It worked well except when the bandwidth here fell as my son visited using (or stealing :)) my wifi. I think I must remove all other connections to my router except the one hardwired to this computer. Also we cut the video both ends to the minimum resolution. These days I've got so used to all devices in the house being connected all the time to my personal broadband router.

First, you download the vst connect performer app to suit your computer.

If it is a pc and you don't already use asio drivers for any audio you record and playback on your computer then you'll need asio4all which will convert WDM audio drivers so as when I send you the code needed to connect us Cubase 7 here will recognise your drivers and be able to have two way traffic. Please read all the info and if there is anything that gets in the way of that eureka moment, we'll figure it out.

One other most important point when communicating around the globe.........If one of us is in bed sleeping it ain't going to happen :)

This is a reply to your post arriving around 4 am here :)

No it does not require those recording their audio to own Cubase. The vst connect recorder is free for both PC and Mac users and it requires only the engineer or receiver of the audio sent over the internet to own Steinberg DAW software. If I send you an access code from my software to you and you paste it to your copy of vst connect and of course the broadband width and speed are sufficient. Job done. We will be linked real time. I can play you the backing track and you can record your audio whether voice or instrument. Simples

Thank you for the welcome. It looks like you're doing great work in Hong Kong.  I enjoyed listening to the music you posted.

Remembrance started out as playing the opening chords on my controller keyboard. I then split the notes between 1st and 2nd violins and viola before adding the tune on English horn / Oboe. All virtual instrument sample of course as I created my tracks in the DAW.

I could never see myself working directly to notation because I just won't put the time in to learning how. So I work by ear as a performer and composer. This piece is the first I've ever tried to convert from midi to notation exporting XML file to Sibelius from Cubase. I must say I've enjoyed the experience and learned a lot from it where, any future orchestrations I do will follow the guidelines necessary for conversion to page as well as audio recording. Thanks for your interest.

Thank you for the kind words on my tunes.

Track #3 is entirely vsti produced and recorded using Cubase 7 DAW on pc Windows 7 x64

I haven't visited China but although never claiming authenticity when putting such a cue together I do try to emulate the essence of the genre I tackle. In this case, all vsti are from Kong Audio Qin RV Edition Essential China

Again, may I thank you for your interest.
