Harmonia, My Teaching Studio...

"Ah, Music. A magic far beyond all we do here!" -- Albus Dumbledore

A line or two about me:
I'm a composer, performer, teacher, and lifelong student who is passionately devoted to music. My primary focus at this time is teaching piano and advanced composition.

My Music:
The music items on this page are from my teaching studio and were all composed by my students or by me.  We all love writing new music and hope you will enjoy this online concert. If you live in our area, perhaps you'll come to one of our live concerts!

More about my studio:
Our studio name, Harmonia, comes from Pythagoras and his Divine Harmony.  Read more about our studio by clicking on this link:   Harmonia

Current Openings:
I currently have a few openings for intermediate and advanced piano and composition students.  If you're interested, write to me at julierharris@aol.com.  I'd love to chat about creative musical paths to fit you or your child.

Post Script, or Coda: For those who are interested in credentials, here's a few of mine: I have degrees in Music Theory & Composition, and studied with Iain Hamilton, Robert Ward, Dan Locklair, and others. I'm a member of ASCAP, MTNA, Phi Theta Kappa, Virtual Artists and American Composers Forum. I've been teaching most of my adult life, for a grand total of almost thirty years. I live in a small town in North Carolina, surrounded by a lovely all-season garden, where my black and white cat Lyra loves to hide among the flowers. My students and I study Theory out on the deck eight months of the year. The Circle of Fifths yields even more treasures in the midst of flora and fauna!

I hope you'll come visit some time.

Hmmm. One of those mysteries. The other links I had there worked fine, but not these last 3.

Actually, I was channeling Prokoviev when I started the Concerto. (Synphonia Concertante and the 2 violin Concertos). i didn't steal any material, but`they definitely served as a model.

I'm glad that others will have a chance to hear these. I'm fairly happy with them.

Hi Harmonia.
I've tried to upload links to 3 of my tunes, but they don't seem to work. Clicking on them only shows something like a 'buffering" or uploading display. No sound. I think I did the steps correctly. I'd like to be able to share the Violin Concerto in particular.
